Thomas Renault is an economist at the Interdisciplinary Research Center in Management Sciences and at Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne University, and a member of BSI Economics. He co-authored a report for the Economic Analysis Council (CAE) alongside Jean Beuve and Amélie Schurich-Rey focusing on « academic economists in public debate and decision-making. »
In this focus, the authors « propose to measure how economists intervene in public debate and assist in public decision-making. The approach taken is not prescriptive but purely descriptive. Their goal is not to analyze and identify the right ways to do this, but to take stock of French economists’ participation in public affairs and compare it with that of their foreign counterparts. »
