BSI Economics in Brussels, Washington, and Geneva for its third anniversary

BSI Economics is celebrating three years of activity this October. These first three years have been devoted to disseminating economic and financial expertise through publications and contributions to public debate. The organization has gained credibility: it has established itself as sustainable and dynamic by developing numerous projects, while our economists all work in recognized private, public, or institutional structures. These two conditions allow us to engage in public debate while offering professionals an alternative source of information.

In three years, our 500 publications have attracted more than 400,000 readers (600 every day) and enabled our 50 economists to make more than 40 appearances in the media. BSI Economics has asserted its uniqueness by believing that academic and professional economists should come together and contribute jointly to the publication of economic analyses. Unlike a think tank, which is by definition closed, we are an open network that is continually enriched by new profiles.

The organization has expanded its network of partners in recent months. We collaborate with various media outlets (print, television, and internet) and with various companies (credit insurance companies, commercial banks) that are keen to promote economic research. We have also built up a network of associations (think tanks, economists’ associations) to share our experience and exchange ideas with organizations that have development challenges similar to ours. Finally, although BSI Economics publishes most often in French, the organization’s development remains focused on the international arena, with partnership agreements signed in Sweden (Macrobond), the United Kingdom (Economist’s Society, University of London), and the United States (FED St Louis, Newsart).

On this basis, the fourth financial year will focus on two major areas of development.

The first area of development concerns updating our editorial offering. The new website now offers three types of content: economic analysis, insights, and economic and financial consensus. The aim is to improve the readability of our content and activities.

The second area of development is the internationalization of our activities. While our headquarters remain in Paris (France), we now have three representatives in Washington (United States), Brussels (Belgium), and Geneva (Switzerland). The aim is to improve the quality of our network of economists and to expand our structure beyond Paris.

These two developments will contribute to the dynamism and growth of BSI Economics. This enthusiasm has been made possible thanks to our readers and contributors, whom we would like to thank once again for their support.
