On Thursday, October 17, Pierre-Michel Becquet had the opportunity to speak in his capacity as an economist and member of BSI Economics at a round table organized by the DFCG, Walter France, and BSI Economics (Knowledge Partner) as part of the « Le sens de la mesure » (The Sense of Measure) series of meetings. The economist discussed the digitization of the finance function. Below is a brief summary of the conference (source: DFCG, 2019):
« Digitalization, or digital transformation, is at the heart of all business concerns and is disrupting economic models, forcing companies to reinvent themselves in order to survive in an increasingly limited space-time. That said, what are the main challenges, what impact will this have on the organization of the finance function, and how are humans integrated into this process?
The guests will share their pragmatic insights and experiences to discuss the following questions:
-
The challenges of digital transformation in corporate strategy and management’s expectations of the finance function
-
The impact of digitalization on the organization of the finance function (scope of action, tools, employee profiles, internal control, etc.), and in particular on the role and activities of the CFO.
-
The changes brought about by digital transformation in the recruitment criteria for CFOs
-
The link between digitalization and people
Pierre-Michel Becquet debated alongside Pierre-Yves Hentzen, President of Stormshield, Philippe Brun, Deputy CEO & CFO of Serge Ferrari, and Samuel Bizouard, Finance & Accounting Recruiter at Hays.
BSI Economics is partnering as a Knowledge Partner in a series of four regional meetings (in Bordeaux, Nantes, Lyon, and Lille) on « the meaning of measurement » organized by the French National Association of Financial and Management Controllers (DFCG) and Walter France. A summary of the discussions is scheduled to be presented at Financium on December 10 and 11, 2019, in Paris.
