2020 Activity Report

The BSI Economics team is pleased to present the 2020 activity report.

The year 2020 was marked by a triple shock: health, economic, and financial. It resulted in changes in economic trends that must be quickly understood and integrated. To do so, collaboration with experts is essential.

This need has led to an increase in requests and interest in our think tank. In 2020, the BSI Economics website welcomed more than 320,000 readers and 4,000 new subscribers. Our conferences and media presence have doubled, we have been commissioned by the Finance Committee of the National Assembly, and we have published a new edition of our annual educational book, « Je comprends (enfin) l’économie ! » (I (finally) understand economics!). With its network of economists now stronger than ever, BSI Economics now wants to create a platform for the general public, decision-makers, and businesses. This tool will aim to facilitate exchanges between economic actors in the private, public, and institutional spheres, which too often operate in silos.

BSI Economics is therefore mobilizing to develop the first edition of the Sorbonne Economic Forums. This new annual conference cycle will take place on June 1, 2, and 3, 2021, in the historic heart of the 13th-century Sorbonne. This setting is intended to highlight the alliance that BSI Economics wishes to forge between the historical heritage of French culture and the urgent need to renew and promote discussions between economic actors in order to better prepare for the post-COVID world.

It has never been more urgent to mobilize economic experts. This is what we will do in 2021, through this annual event and our various events aimed at the general public and decision-makers. This dynamic will be supported by a larger number of new partners. As it approaches its 10th anniversary, BSI Economics will accelerate the opening up of its governance, its partners, and its network of economists to enhance our contributions to the development of economic and financial education.

Providing greater support for BSI Economics’ resources will therefore be crucial to achieving this goal. The executive team is fully available to discuss your potential support and to initiate a long-term collaboration with you as a citizen, institution, or company. Such support is both essential and valuable in sustaining our commitment to the public interest of promoting and disseminating economic and financial education.

The Presidency of BSI Economics, Arthur Jurus, Marine Coinon, and Victor Lequillerier
