The BSI Economics team is pleased to present the 2019 activity report.
2019 was an important year for our development. Our network of economists grew by 30%, our website was visited by 275,000 readers, and our social media followers increased by 10%. Above all, we contributed to a dozen conferences for private decision-makers.
Our think tank aims to provide objective and apolitical analysis by economists who are experts in their fields. Our steering and ethics committee maintains this editorial and analytical independence. Our executive team operates with complete transparency, particularly in financial matters, as reflected in this 2019 activity report.
The independence of think tanks in France is a highly strategic issue for private decision-makers. The current ecosystem consists mainly of structures financed by public subsidies or directly by the state. Few structures are financed by the private and public sectors. Only a handful of these structures aim to develop donations from individuals. However, individuals seek independence and openness in analysis to enrich their culture and develop pragmatic thinking on economic and financial issues.
2020 must therefore mark a break with this tradition. With eight years of experience, a proven track record, and a development plan supported by our strategic committee, BSI Economics is embarking on an independent fundraising campaign financed solely by the private sector and donations from individuals. We want to increase our presence within companies and enrich public debate by promoting an independent message. Our annual publication, the second edition of which is being released on January 22, 2019, is an example of our educational and public interest contributions to the general public.
BSI Economics will be more accessible to businesses and the general public. Our editorial content, events, and the availability of our experts will aim to meet the needs of private decision-makers and individuals. Our commitment is not only to a development project, but also to the ambition of a hundred experts who are now determined to offer an alternative and a 100% independent platform for reflection.
