Summary: France experienced a general cyclical recovery and a rebound in employment growth in 2017, supported by the implementation of structural reforms and favorable global economic conditions. After a mixed start to the year in economic terms, the French economy is expected to recover the ground lost in the last few months of the year. However, this will not be enough to keep the old forecast frameworks intact. France has an opportunity to take advantage of the momentum of growth to pursue the ambitious program of measures with which it aims to put an end to the problems that have weighed on its economy for decades.
